Very sadly, Jim Lennie, the “Best Quantity Surveyor in the world”, died on Thursday 25th June 2015. His Indicative Costs were unsurpassed for accuracy and his service for helpfulness. He was the best mentor the Practice ever had. He was also a delightful man with a lovely family. Although most of his work was in the difficult field of historic …
As you can see, our office is all geared up to take part in the Love to Ride Scotland, National Cycle Challenge from 8-28th June.
Ben and Silke like to thank Jane Raven for the invite to the VIP Preview Party. It was a wonderful evening, lots of fabulous looking art installations and some really wonderfully bonkers spaces. The results will be announced on Tuesday, 31st March and Thursday, 23rd April respectively. A public exhibition of all the EAA short-listed projects can be viewed in Edinburgh at …

Ben writes: One of the wonders of India is how building conservation is built into their constitution, and another is how India reveres their British heritage; maybe this is mutual respect. Ebba Koch, an Austrian Art Historian who wrote the new and incomparable book on the Taj Mahal has …

However, Prof. Fiona McLachlan at Edinburgh University has made the study of colour a speciality which she recently shared with us and some colleagues. Her book ‘Architectural Colour in the Professional Palette‘ is wonderful and made us realise how complex colour is and what part different perceptions, social …
