ETERNAL SUNSHINE – SPRINGFIELD PARISH CHURCH

With the start of spring behind us and Easter coming, the works at Springfield are nearing completion, bringing eternal sunshine to the church.  The high level lettering by artist Susie Leiper is a very special blessing.  Inspired by deck lens fittings, we’ve designed the beautiful 8m chandelier together with Mike Stoane and KSLD to give general as well as spot lighting.

FIRES IN HISTORIC BUILDINGS

Devastating news about another historic building fire, this time at Notre Dame, Paris.  What a tragedy, and sad that suspicion for the cause points to current repairs.  It is fortunate that the magnificent stone vaulting largely survived, saving much of the interior, and hopefully the stained glass.  The drone picture is pretty remarkable, it shows the glowing embers of the …

This is the start of external repairs and work is due to be completed …

CRAFT VISIT

We went on a trip to Laurence McIntosh‘s facilities and were very impressed by the set up of their new workshop and offices.  David, Gillian and Mark showed us around their impressive range of machinery and introduced us to their drafting staff, who assist turning our ideas into workshop drawings.  We were shown everything from carving, complex veneering to solid timber …

EDINBURGH CYCLE SCHEME

Complete with new helmet, Mathew tried the Edinburgh Cycle Hire Scheme on Monday.  The verdict was that the bike was nice (and called Craig), but the road surfaces were not. https://edinburghcyclehire.com/
