SPOT THE DIFFERENCE
…and we are not talking about the cars in front of Cowane’s Hospital, Stirling.
The statue of John Cowane (1640s) carved by John Milne, the King’s Master Mason, has been removed from its niche over the front door of the 17th century almshouse for conservation by Graciela Ainsworth. This is the start of external repairs and work is due to be completed in time for “Auld Staneybreeks” to be back for his dance in the courtyard at Hogmaney.
