Old Milton Cottage
The sensitivities for planning consent for a new house with expansive views across the Insch Marshes and the Spey valley in the heart of the Cairngorms National Park were considerable.
Stone and slate from existing buildings on the site were completely reused.
A brief to create a home for modern living, capturing the views was met by a design that looks as if it has grown over time around a ‘hidden’ courtyard. Internally the main family spaces are celebrated with vaulted ceilings.
