Full Description

Life was brought back to the derelict steading and courtyard, providing an Artist’s Bothy, Studio, Education Room, Offices and Reception, creating flexible and generous spaces.

The buildings were in a poor state of repair and have been repaired, taking care to preserve the character and as much of the original fabric as possible.  New additions are in a contrasting, though sympathetic style.  Close attention has been paid to details, including cast iron ‘door mats’ and ‘branch’ door handles.  ‘Sputnik’ Entrance Gates were designed, in galvanised painted and polished stainless steel, to provide a suitable introduction to the Sculpture Park.

The sensitive alterations and repairs to the existing buildings and the Landscape Masterplan were key to gaining the complete Planning Approval.
