Craigievar Castle Visitor Centre Proposal

To assist with the management of one of Scotland’s most important castles, The National Trust for Scotland commissioned a feasibility study into a new visitor centre.

Aberdeenshire

Full Description

The centre would provide a warm welcome, a ‘holding’ space, and encourage exploration of the landscape and other attractions in the area to reduce visitor pressure on the castle whilst increasing income.

The proposal adapts and extends an existing toilet block and provides an information desk, accommodation for education and exhibition, a shop, a café and improved WCs.  Alternative elevations for the same plan were prepared.  The project has not yet been realised.
