Modern facilities for a large parish within the A-listed church where achieved by extending an existing stair down into a lower level, in a manner that makes the journey itself an attraction.

The basement floor has been opened up with a new garden room.

Facilities include a crèche, kitchen, office, extensive toilets, a special accessible toilet with lifting apparatus and an enlarged Guild room.  New disabled and pram access to the church was provided in addition to the improved stair and lift connection.

Repairs were carried out to the roof, stonework and services.

Assistance with funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund, Historic Scotland and numerous other organisations was provided.
