On the 1st May at the Royal Society for Edinburgh, RIAS conferred on Naeem Hussain their Honorary Fellowship in recognition of the beauty and effectiveness of his wonderful designs and global achievements.  These include the Øresund Bridge and Tunnel linking Denmark and Sweden, the Stonecutters Bridge in Hongkong, and the Hulme Bridge in Manchester.  He deserves to be a household name as a bridge designer, just as much as Sir Baker and Sir John Fowler, who designed the Forth Rail Bridge.
