Private House, Extension and Alteration – Edinburgh
Attached to a 1930’s family house this highly insulated open plan room accommodates a spacious kitchen and areas for sitting and dining.
It engages with the secluded and sunny garden and provides an informal northlit studio for the watercolour artist client.
Harmonising with the house externally, the light and airy interior is complemented by solid oak floors, white-painted timber ceiling and light-coloured finishes and purpose-made furniture. South light is introduced through large rooflights. The former kitchen now houses the maple-lined top-lit bathroom and a utillity room.
The existing house was also greatly improved.
