THE QUEEN'S GALLERY
High Street, Edinburgh

The theme of The Queen's Gallery was her Golden Jubilee, expressed through a series of arches and screens that lead visitors from the entrance to the exhibition spaces beyond.   The only significant external alteration was a new entrance- a feast of design, art and craftsmanship, hinting at the treasures on show beyond.  A contemporary reception leads to a magnificent new stair leads to the galleries with exceptionally high environmental controls. The Galleries have been designed for very easy viewing, with unique lighting specially designed to give very low levels and excellent colour.  The work of many artists has been incorporated.
