OSSIAN'S HALL One of Scotland's finest Picturesque buildings, Ossian's Hall has been a favourite visitor attraction. However, the building had become run down and unappreciated. To bring back the lost sensations of 'surprise and wonder' we designed a trompe-l'oeil external door, investigated and redesigned the original inner door that "split asunder" and reinstated the lost mirrors of the Hall with specially commissioned artwork from Calum Colvin with text by Aonghas Macneacail. The effect of images and confusion with the spray of the falls is as it might have been 200 years ago. A glazed screen moderates the environment and makes the place useful for events. |
